MACIEK PYSZ GROUP
The band has been established by Polish guitarist Maciek Pysz in May 2008 and features Maciek on acoustic guitar, Dado Pasqualini(Italy, worked with Antonio Forcione, Carmen Souza) on percussion and Jerelle Jacob(UK, from Speakers Corner Quartet) on double bass. All three musicians, who share a passion for acoustic music and intricate rhythms from South American countries, decided to bring together their vast influences and offer a unique blend of jazz and world music. Their style appeals not only to jazz audiences and it has been described as 'an exquisite jazz sound with a touch of World rhythms', they have also been compared to E.S.T. and Avishai Cohen Trio led by acoustic guitar. The band has recorded their first demo entitled 'Discoveries' in November 2008 featuring original pieces written by Maciek Pysz which can be heard on www.myspace.com/maciekpysz . They have been successfully performing a mix of standards and originals with an energy and enthusiasm that is hugely infectious. Some of the venues include Ronnie Scotts, Jazz Cafe POSK, The Ritzy and Charlie Wright's.
Tracks 'Under The Sky'/'The Things I Miss'/'Dedication' are from the first demo by Maciek called 'Discoveries', recorded live in Alchemea Studios in London, all are first takes, November 2008, Maciek - guitar, Dado Pasqualini - percussion, Jerelle Jacob - double bass.
