MACIEK
MACIEK PYSZ GROUP
The band has been established by Polish guitarist Maciek Pysz in May 2008 and features Maciek on acoustic guitar, Asaf Sirkis and Dado Pasqualini on percussion and Mao Yamada on double bass. All musicians share a passion for acoustic music and intricate rhythms from South American countries, decided to bring together their vast influences and offer a unique blend of jazz and world music. Their style appeals not only to jazz audiences and it has been described as 'an exquisite jazz sound with a touch of World rhythms'. Maciek's musical ideas are fresh, accessible, and very pleasurable to hear. The group has also been compared to E.S.T. and Avishai Cohen Trio led by acoustic guitar. They have recorded their first demo entitled 'Discoveries' in November 2008 featuring original pieces written by Maciek. The band has been successfully performing a mix of standards and originals with an energy and enthusiasm that is hugely infectious. Some of the venues include Ronnie Scotts, Pizza Express, Charlie Wright's, Jazz Cafe POSK and The Ritzy to name a few.
